Course Overview

This course aims to explain how compliance with I.S.EN 61936-1:2021 can demonstrate, that all reasonably practicable measures have been taken to satisfy the duties and requirements imposed on developers, designers and contractors. To outline a framework within which, HV installations can be designed and constructed safely and in accordance with Part 3 of the 2007 Safety Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations and other relevant legislation.

Course Aims

To explain how compliance with I.S.EN 61936-1:2021 can demonstrate, that all reasonably practicable measures have been taken to satisfy the duties and requirements imposed on developers, designers and contractors by:

– SHAWW Act 2005

– SHAWW (General Application) Regulations 2007 (SI299) Part 3 Electricity

– SHAWW (Construction) Regulations 2013

To outline a framework within which, HV installations can be designed and constructed safely and in accordance with Part 3 of the 2007 Safety Health & Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations and other relevant legislation.

3. Competence in design, construction and commissioning

5. Protection against hazards (I.S.EN 61936-1)

6. Insulation and Earthing (I.S.EN 61936-1)

7. Design Risk Assessment

8. Construction quality

9. Testing and confirmation of compliance (I.S.EN 61936-1)

10. O&M documentation, training and handover (I.S.EN 61936-1)

About the Trainer

Padraig Plunkett is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with 35 years varied international experience in HV Power Systems and Transformers. Padraig is a member of various technical and safety committees including:

NSAI/ETC/TC 03: S.R. 61936/ISEN 61936 Power installations exceeding 1kV (1.5kVdc) & ISEN 50110 Operation of electrical installations
IEC TC99/MT4: IEC 61936 Power installations exceeding 1kV (1.5kV dc)
CENELEC CLC / BTTF 62-3 BTTF 62-3 EN 50110 Operation of electrical installations.
Cancellation Policy

Delegates who cancel their place on or two working days before will have their fees refunded, less an administrative charge of €50 per trainee. No refunds will be made to those cancelling after that date, but replacement delegates will be accepted. Non-attendees are still liable for payment for the conference.
