This module explores governance and management of coastal and marine environments, focusing on coastal zone management, marine spatial planning, MPA frameworks, and marine innovation.
It examines key concepts and approaches within the context of global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students will gain practical experience through projects and group work, tackling real-world challenges faced by coastal managers and planners.
Skillnet Offshore Wind Academy has been designed following extensive consultation with businesses operating in the offshore wind sector. Wind Energy Ireland are Skillnet Ireland’s delivery partners for this initiative. The scheme aims to empower the offshore renewable energy workforce by addressing skill gaps and aiding mid-career professionals in transitioning to the offshore wind sector. Our programme offers specialized micro-credentials, or “MicroCreds,” developed in partnership with Irish universities.
These compact and flexible training courses are tailored to industry needs, facilitating the onboarding process. By completing MicroCreds, participants can accumulate credits towards valuable qualifications like certificates and degrees.
