Introduction to Project Management for Offshore Projects
Commences: 11 September 2026

The Introduction to Project Management for Offshore Projects micro-credential provides professionals with a practical grounding in the management of offshore projects, covering areas including risk management, budgeting and cost control, procurement and contract management, HSE, communication, regulatory frameworks and project management tools.
The course begins on Friday, 11 September, with an on-campus session, followed by online lectures on Fridays. The schedule is designed to fit around professional commitments, with most online sessions running from 12.00–14.00. The course also includes a mid-term break and a written project report rather than a final examination.
For professionals already working in energy, engineering, marine, construction or related sectors, this is an opportunity to strengthen project delivery capability while developing knowledge directly applicable to offshore wind and marine infrastructure projects.
Introduction to Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Commences: 14 September 2026
Spatial data is central to offshore wind development – from site selection and environmental assessment to planning, resource analysis and project design.
The Introduction to Geographical Information Systems (GIS) micro-credential provides a strong foundation in GIS and spatial analysis, including spatial data modelling, data retrieval and manipulation, and practical experience using GIS tools. Laboratory sessions provide hands-on experience that professionals can apply to real-world environmental, engineering and planning challenges.
Importantly for busy professionals, the 12-week course offers considerable flexibility. Lectures are scheduled for Monday mornings from 09.15–11.50, and all lectures are recorded. Learners can therefore attend in person, participate live online or review recorded content in their own time.
The course is particularly relevant to professionals looking to develop skills applicable to roles such as GIS Technician and Resource Analyst, while also providing a strong foundation for further offshore wind specialisation.
Introduction to MetOcean for Offshore Wind
Commences: 16 September 2026
Understanding ocean and atmospheric conditions is fundamental to offshore wind development. MetOcean data informs everything from site suitability and engineering design to marine operations, risk assessment and downtime analysis.
The Introduction to MetOcean for Offshore Wind course provides professionals with an understanding of currents, tides, water levels, temperature, salinity and extreme events, alongside the data sources and tools used to characterise offshore conditions. Learners will also explore how MetOcean information is applied to offshore wind projects, including site assessment, risk and downtime analysis and the integration of engineering and environmental data.
The course starts on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, with lectures scheduled from 11.30–13.30. Delivery is blended, combining online lectures with an in-person half-day workshop, making it suitable for professionals who need to balance upskilling with demanding working schedules.
